BDSM can be a deeply intimate experience, whether you are playing with a long-term partner or someone you’ve just met. Among other topics, this class covers
- Using touch, distance, breath, and eye contact to establish intimacy
- Establishing intimacy with different emotional tones (“intimate and connected” isn’t necessarily soft and sensual)
- The risks of emotional intimacy
- The role of bottoms/submissives in establishing intimacy
This class uses a lecture + demonstrations format. To highlight the fact that highly connected scenes can be created using any tools, I focus the demonstrations on the kinds of scenes most often engaged in by beginners: impact play and rough body play.
About Our Presenter
Flicker derives energy and connection from pain, yours or hers. Her play style ranges from lyrical to brutal and rarely requires more furniture than a wall and a floor (wall optional). She enjoys thoughtful conversations about BDSM: if you have played with her, she has probably asked you why you do what you do. Flicker has been active in the BDSM community since 2007 and has taught at a variety of venues in Ohio and California.
Note: We have been informed that the ramp, which makes Catalyst accessible for those who can’t use the stairs, will not be available for the foreseeable future. We are committed to accessibility for all of our events, so we are actively looking for an alternative venue. Please contact us if you have any ideas. In the meantime, we sincerely apologize for this.
