Impact as Art: Fists, Feet, Floggers & Pain

Every sensation builds the journey of the scene. A fist landing against flesh. The pressure of a boot. The rhythm of a flogger. Different tools. Different sensations. Different ways to receive and process pain. Different journeys.

Whether delivered through a fist, a foot, or a flogger, impact can be more than sensation. It can be rhythm, intention, challenge, catharsis, and connection. This interactive workshop examines impact as both skill and art form, combining practical technique with a deeper exploration of the physical and emotional experiences that make impact play so compelling.

Through live demonstrations, guided discussion, and hands-on practice, participants will develop skills for delivering and receiving sensation safely, effectively, and intentionally to create experiences that are not only effective and safe, but deliberate, expressive, and memorable.

Together we’ll examine pain processing, body mechanics, scene construction, communication, and the place where challenge, pleasure, endurance, and connection converge. Designed for players with some experience but welcoming to adventurous beginners eager to deepen their understanding of impact play.

Fox Ironwood
Fox Ironwood is a kink educator, performer, and longtime explorer of BDSM, leather, polyamory, queer culture, and alternative lifestyles. With a background that bridges adult education and entertainment, Fox is passionate about helping people approach kink with curiosity, communication, and intention.

Whether discussing power exchange, sensation play, intimacy, or community, Fox brings a practical, engaging perspective grounded in lived experience and a genuine love of learning. Together with Mixtress Ryder, they enjoy creating educational spaces that are welcoming, thoughtful, and just the right amount of mischievous.

ABOUT THE EXILES:
The Exiles is a 501(c)3 women- and queer- centered educational organization for all individuals who self-identify as other than cisgender man.
Individuals must be over the age of 18 years old and have a positive interest in BDSM.

ACCESSIBILITY
Our event will take place at 1286 Folsom Street (at 9th Street) in San Francisco on the ground floor, which is fully wheelchair accessible. A single-stall, all-genders bathroom will be available.

Public Transportation:
– BART: The nearest stations are Civic Center/UN Plaza and Powell Street, each about a 15–20 minute walk.
– Muni: Several bus lines serve the area, including the 9 San Bruno, 27 Bryant, and 47 Van Ness, which stop within a few blocks of Folsom and 9th.
– Bike parking is available nearby, and limited street parking is available in the neighborhood.
