Rough rope play…A knock-down, drag-out rope revolution; square off with your partner until only one remains!

A funhouse of sweat, rope, and tears. We will teach you how to “persuade” someone to the mat. Bottoms, make it hard, Tops, get ready to sweat, and if you aren’t sure about the dynamics……it’s time to DUKE IT OUT.

There is no need for complicated knots, just get ready to have some rip-roaring fun.

This class will open with demos and technique shares. The second half of the class with be interactive, with people pairing up either with the instructors or each other to work on takedowns. This kind of rough play requires the ability to stand for periods of time, some muscle flexibility and strength, and physical activity for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. We will have very little lecture time; this will mainly be a hands-on class.

The goal is to facilitate unorganized, erratic, and rough rope play. Rope “skills” are not required but some basic knowledge of rope play and safety is necessary, as this is not a 101 class.

Please bring your own rope if possible, although some practice ropes will be offered. Shorter lengths, between 5 and 15 feet, are preferred, as anything too long WILL JUST SLOW YOU DOWN. Knee pads are suggested but not required. Mats will be provided.

About Our Presenters

A transplant from……somewhere in the south, Skittles is a dedicated dapper Leatherboi who has been tying people up for over a decade. An experienced rope switch, they are one of the founding members of the Bay Area Hitchin’ Bitches, have co presented at IMsL, and hosted two GRUEs as well as RopeNSpace 2014. In 2007 Skittles went to their first Shibaricon and immediately decided that it wasn’t for them. Since then, they have been advocating for a less rigid rope style, one with more burns and mutual bruising. Skittles is also hoping to make rope accessible to everyone and is working on integrating more types of play into their rope.
