This workshop by Energy is to introduce you to the world of interacting with Deaf/HOH individuals in leather spaces. Instead of being on the edge, on the outside looking in at the hot person who is signing, you can go beyond to having a hot scene.
The goals are:
- Provide basic ASL conversational skills
- Tips to provide you a good start in creating play that leaves you both flying
- Gain insight into Deaf Culture e.g., cultural norms, use of eye gaze
- Understand possible communication approaches e.g., use of speech to text apps
It is encouraged that you review the ASL alphabet and Finger Spelling before attending the workshop. Handouts of tips will also be provided for those who take the workshop. The workshop will include activities to practice conversational skills and apply them in scenarios. Q/A will be part of the program.
