The club is at a crossroads. Most of the current officers are planning to step aside and turn over leadership of the club to fresh faces and fresh ideas. It’s time to decide what the Exiles will be in the future, and that future needs YOU. So please step forward and share your ideas, time, and energy to help fashion what the Exiles will be going forward.
To this end, we are asking for the following:
- Attend the “What is the Future of the Exiles?” Community Meeting on Sunday, January 8 from 5:30-7:00pm at at the Womens Building in San Francisco.
- Encourage your friends to attend too. This meeting is open to anyone who meets our membership criteria (over 18 whose gender self-identification is other than male). You need not be a current Exiles member to attend.
- Consider volunteering for a leadership role in the Exiles, and/or volunteering to help out at events.
- We are also conducting a survey to help the leadership of the club understand what you want the Exiles to be, and how well the club has been meeting your needs. If you meet our membership criteria, please send email to exilessurveys@gmail.com to get a copy of the survey.
Without new people willing to step up and help run the club, it’s unclear what will happen to the Exiles. Your participation will help shape the future of the largest women’s BDSM organization in the country.
Directions to The Women's Building
Public Transit BART: The Women's Building is close to 16th street BART. Special note: one side-effect of gentrification in the Mission is that there are a lot of people on the streets between The Women's Building and the BART station - all nice safe people going to one of the many new local restaurants. You'll probably feel safe walking the few blocks from 16th Mission BART and The Women's Building. Muni- The 22 Fillmore runs down 16th Street. Get off at 16th & Valencia and walk two blocks to The Women's Building.
- The 14 Mission runs along Mission Street. Get off at 17th or 18th and walk 1-1/2 blocks to TWB.
Street parking is difficult in this neighborhood. There is an inexpensive locked parking garage available on 21st St. between Valencia and Mission and 16th and on Hoff St between Mission and Valencia.
