Catharsis (from Greek “katharsis” meaning “purification” or “cleansing”) is the purification and purgation of emotions — particularly pity and fear — through art or any extreme change in emotion that results in renewal and restoration.
Is BDSM your church? Do you want to explore the cathartic effect that can happen as a result of pain? In this workshop we will demo impact techniques (punching, spanking, paddling, flogging, and caning) while sharing stories and discussing the emotions, release, and climax that we experience with impact play. In this part demo, part interactive group discussion, we will look at the importance of the energy exchange, breath, and body language between Top and bottom. The demo will continue to build up rhythmic intensity to demonstrate how it’s done. We will consider how BDSM play scenes impact our lives, how it helps us make breakthroughs in personal, spiritual and emotional growth.
